The Maroondah City Council Business Excellence Awards Program is an initiative to reward and recognise the exceptional businesses located within the Municipality. Recognised at each bi-monthly Council Business Breakfast, successful nominees receive a certificate commemorating their achievements and extensive local publicity. They also have the opportunity of being announced the Award Winner in their respective category.

All businesses located within the Maroondah Municipality are eligible to nominate by filling in a nomination form and returning it to Council where it will be evaluated by the judging panel. The judging panel is independent and consists of Award Sponsors, and the Mayor of the day. The Business Excellence Award winners are presented at a dinner held as the conclusion to Business Week in October each year.

In addition, many local businesses and organisations sponsor the Awards Program which has been held annually since 1996.

The 2006 Maroondah City Council Business Excellence Awards winners will be announced at the Maroondah Business Week Dinner on Friday 6 October 2006 at the Karralyka Centre.

Winners of the awards will receive the new-look Business Excellence Awards trophy designed by local business Profile Glass.
